It started out with a discussion involving what the objective world consists of... or "What is it that is truly objective". My opinion was well stated for me by Dallin quoting a philosopher: "The objective reality is based upon only Matter and Motion."
Now matter seems to be an objective given (and let us not forget that as per Herr Einstein, physical Matter actually consists of an enormous magnitude of densely packed energy. Hence: Objective = Energy and Motion) This is where the basis for the beginning of a new paradigm comes into play.
Energy is and Motion is. But....!
What is motion? or more precisely, what is the cause of motion? We know what motion is once matter is placed into motion....But how is matter placed into motion? In my experience as a human (yes; i was once a cat, a rhino, and even a spider), motion is caused in two separate ways: through an act of an individual's volition (i.e. A rock was thrown because i chose to throw it) or through an act of natural occurrences (i.e. a rock-slide).
An individuals ability to place matter into motion is derived from that individual's volition. So isn't it true that matter, as far as the individual is concerned, is irrelevant without volition? Or stated in a slightly more familiar way, "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around, did it make a sound?" (If matter exists and it is not placed into motion, is matter relevant?) : Matter is irrelevant without Motion, and Matter is only placed into Motion through an act of volition.
Matter + Volition = Motion
So moving on to the motion created by natural occurrences. A rock-slide happens. Why? is it because the rocks decided to slide? or because the slope was steep? Volition doesn't seem to come into play when observing natural occurrences of matter in motion. Instead human-kind has been relying upon searching for causes other than volition that would induce such an effect. Often times in the example of a rock-slide science will follow a querying path similar to the following:
A rock-slide happens. Why? --> Because gravity pulled the rocks towards the earth's center of mass. Why? Because the force of gravity became greater than combined forces of the rocks physical properties (The rocks 'Normal' Force and the rocks force of friction against their steep sloped perch). Why? --> Because..... Why? --> ..... Why? --> ...... Why? --> ..... Why? ---> Because of the Big-Bang. Why? ---> ???
I speculate that any 'natural occurrence' of Matter being put into Motion will follow a similar querying path, straight to the age-old questions about the creation of the universe. This leaves one curious as to how it may have happened (the universe).
Imagine that there is all of this energy floating around in nothingness, and it's just there, motionless. How could that energy/matter be put into motion? The only observable starting point of an instance of matter being put into motion is that stated by the volition observation. "Matter + Volition = Motion". I come across motionless matter and I decide to put that matter into motion.
So the volition observation would state that for the all of this energy and matter to be in motion some entity equipped with volition would have to have been required to cause the change from motionless matter to matter full of motion.
Matter + Volition = Motion
||
Energy + Volition = Value
||
Energy + Volition = Value
If Matter is irrelevant without Volition, or rather if Volition gives matter it's meaning, it's life, it's motion, than what is Volition?
Trying to 'grok' volition has lead to The Battle of Volition and Determinism, it's been a tough fight. Particularly because Dallin and I are both volitionists so we're entering the conflict with a philosophical bias. We seem to be a little cognitively stuck on the topic, at least for the time being.
Boring eh? could be. Curious? maybe. Important? well, to us it is =)

One thing I had a tough time saying over the phone, I didn't mean to say that matter and energy were the only equivalents, but that even motion IS energy (kenetic energy) and that if kenetic energy requires volition, and it's equal to matter, what's stopping volition from causing EVEN MATTER!
I also would like to extend your [motion of matter = value of matter] postulate: VOLITION is value (even if it is an illusion), and since both matter and motion (they are the same thing (e=mc2)) require volition, (take the derivative of your "natural" rockslide further and further where natural no longer explains the cause of the motion...even if you have to get to the Big Bang), they are valuable because of that volition which we postulate began their existence.
I suppose this is an Intelligent Design theory, but it's different to me because it recognized YOUR intelligence (if you believe in volition). It further recognizes the POTENTIAL of your volition:
Universe was created by volition.
YOU have volition
You can create a universe.
Sounds like science fiction, but again, never forget that with your volition you can essentially enact motion, which is really really really small scale of enacting a Big Bang.
